Zhen meaning quiet observer.
There was something about this owl that I wanted to capture beyond its physical beauty. Owls have always fascinated me—their stillness, their patience, the way they seem to see what we often overlook. As I painted Zhen, I imagined an ancient, quiet presence simply watching the world unfold.
I worked with deep blues and layered greys to create that feeling of stillness and depth, then added small pops of yellow—like unexpected moments of light breaking through the darkness.
For me, Zhen is about quiet strength, wisdom, intuition, and the beauty of simply being present.
This is a large, original painting, created entirely by hand in my studio. There is only one Zhen. Every brushstroke, layer, mistake and detail was painted by me, making this piece truly one of a kind.
There will be no duplicates of this painting.
